DFSN Meeting: July 20, 2018
Topics included the Jewish Family Service Agency, a non-profit social service agency serving nondenominational clients with a special interest in seniors.
We also announced the launch of our social media campaign and tactics for reaching a broader audience.
We touched on the possibility of partnering with the Center for Missing Persons. Tracking/ID jewelry were in talk.
DFSN Meeting: June 15, 2018
At our June 2018 meeting we opened with a feature on Avenir Memory Care, a company that specializes in neighborhoods designed for different levels of cognitive lifestyles. Additionally, we reviewed the 2018 Dementia Capable Communities Report and the Sanford Center for Aging Community Assessment Report. We finished with some group brainstorming for increasing community engagement.
DFSN Meeting: May 18, 2018
Kat Hartley kicked off the meeting with a feature on HealthyBrains.org, a free, online resource for information on brain health as well as clinical trials surrounding the Cleveland Clinic.
In an effort to raise Alzheimer’s awareness in the Las Vegas community, Kat announced the Gene Match event to be held on May 25th, 2018.

LeAnn Mandarino opened with the DFN initiative and a recap of the organization’s most recent accomplishments.
Our community feature of the month was Helping Hands of Vegas Valley. Cory Lutz discussed the program’s wide array of services from respite care to transportation and food pantry access.
