Dementia Conversations with Chuck and Jennifer

Join national dementia advocate Chuck McClatchey and family care partner Jennifer Carson to talk openly and honestly about what it means to live with dementia and explore ideas for living well.
Every Monday (except holidays), from 10:00 – 11:30 AM, on Zoom!

Chuck was a member of the United States Air Force for 21 years, where he was a C-141 Flight Engineer, logging more than 15,000 hours. He flew 7 years in Special Operations, in support of Vietnam, invasion of Panama, Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Chuck was employed for 22 Years with the Arizona Department of Transportation, wherein he developed their Intelligent Transportation System Equipment Maintenance Program for the greater Phoenix area. Chuck retired as the First Electrical Operations Superintendent, supervising 5 different traffic groups with a budget of over 20 million dollars. In 2013, Chuck accepted a position with a Construction Company in Dallas, Texas as a Maintenance Manager, but soon began having memory issues. Chuck was diagnosed 6 months later with Early On-Set Alzheimer’s Disease. After going through every emotion and with the help of a therapist he found he was able talk about his disease with others, which also helped him in understanding and accepting his own diagnosis.
Dr. Jennifer Carson is a family care partner with 30+ years of experience as a professional care partner as well. In her role as Director of the Dementia Engagement, Education and Research (DEER) Program at the University of Nevada Reno, she supports the Dementia Friendly Nevada initiative, working in partnership with tribal, rural and urban communities.
